On this day...

On this day, religion reared its ugly head once again.  The World Trade Center was attacked in order to kill everyone inside and cause mass panic and destruction.  All of the major US news stations repeated the same message over and over again, that we were attacked because of our way of life.  They said we were attacked because the enemy was jealous.

We were attacked because of our Christian population.  Its not their fault, as Mohammedans are just as guilty of believing in an imaginary god as the Christians are - but this attack was motivated by religion.

The world will never be free so long as religion keeps duping people into committing such stupid acts with the promise of paradise afterward.  I believe if the hijackers of 9-11 knew the truth, none of them would have boarded those planes with the intent to kill people and themselves.

The next time someone invites you to go to church, realize this:  They are inviting you because they want to tweak your mind until you believe as they do.  There is no kindness in this act and you should be offended.

Imagine, as John Lennon did, a world where we knew we knew that we were mortal.  Imagine a world where our hesitation to kill each other was based on the knowledge that there was no heaven, no paradise filled with virgins and no glory beyond the grave.  A world who knew this would find fewer differences and fewer reasons to murder each other.
Imagine a world where peace was sought after, instead of bargained for with people whom you think are stupid because their imaginary friend is different from yours and they are just going to go burn in Hell anyway.

Take a moment to consider what such a world would look like as a tribute to those who died ten years ago.
